Senior Leadership Delivering Results for Our Community
I have obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Finance. I have over twenty (20) years of Senior Management experience in both small and large business environments. I have extensive experience for many aspects of business including, Information Technology, Accounting, Human Resources, Operations, Safety and Quality. I have worked with all levels of government Municipal, Provincial and Federal and I am familiar with legislation and process in these environments. I am currently working on my second master's degree MSc. Occupational Health Safety and Environmental Management.
I am a NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer) and a Six Sigma Black Belt (Lean Process and Manufacturing). I am also a senior auditor for process control and safety. I am a Saint John Ambulance First Aid Instructor and keep current to offer courses within the community (although whenever I offer free courses there is little to no interest; so my confidence level as an instructor is low)
I have a Class 1 and Class 6 driving license so I can drive any vehicle on the road. I also was the lead developer for the Airboat program within the Alberta Oilsands and performed many rescue operations onsite including very cold winter adventures. I am a trained pilot although I haven’t flown in years, but I do enjoy flying drones as I think that anything remote control is cool.
I spent six years learning Kempo Karate and hold a Brown Belt which is almost a Black Belt. I used to be able to kick hard and fast and do the splits, but I wouldn't dare try now days. I trained with the University of Alberta Judo Team and have earned a Blue Belt in Judo; throws and break falls are fun to me. I have spent seven years training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and I am very close to obtaining a Brown Belt; I am not very good, but I really enjoy the community spirit of the sport.
I look forward to working with Council as I am confident that my experience and qualifications will add value to Strathcona County. I look forward to representing the residents of Ward 3 and I would appreciate your support in the upcoming election.
